Though based in San Francisco, our practice also includes work for clientele throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area Region.  Within San Francisco, we are located in the SOMA district and are adjacent to Potrero Hill, South Beach and the Financial Districts, and serve all districts of the City.
 
We also serve the surrounding Bay Area, including but not limited to the cities of Belmont, Burlingame, Brisbane, Daly City, El Granada, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Hillsborough, Millbrae, Pacifica, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and other areas of San Mateo County; Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro and other areas of Alameda County; Palo Alto, Santa Clara, San Jose and other areas of Santa Clara County; Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek and other areas of Contra Costa County, San Rafael and other areas of Marin County; Napa County; Solano County; and the rest of the Bay Area Region.


 

Advocacy 
Our experience is at all levels of prosecuting claims and defense, including administrative hearings, judicial and private Arbitrations, judicial and private Mediations, private Trial work, and courtroom Trial work in all Courts of the State of California, the United States District Court for all districts in the State of California, and the Ninth District Court of Appeals.

Retainer Fees & Hourly Rates
All new clients are required to pay a Retainer Fee to the firm, and it is typically several thousand dollars. The amount of the Retainer is negotiable for clients with good credit.  The firm bills by the hour and generally does not take on clients under contingency fee.  Our rates are very competitive and are typically lower than those found at major law firms in the San Francisco metropolitan area.  Please contact us for our current rate structure.
 
 
 
Forms of Payment
The Mau Law Firm typically accepts payment via local bank check or cashier's checks, in U.S. currency only.  As a new service, The Mau Law Firm will be accepting limited major credit card payments via Squaredup.  This will only be for clients who meet in person with our Managing Attorney, Michael L. Mau, Esq.  Please note, retainer payments are required at the beginning of a new client meeting.
